Medicare & Private Health Rebates
Clients referred on a GP Mental Health Plan to a specialist Clinical Psychologist are eligible to claim a rebate from Medicare of $122.15 per hourly consultation.
Clients referred on a GP Mental Health Plan to a General Psychologist are eligible to claim a rebate from Medicare of $83.25 per hourly consultation.
Under a Mental Health Care Plan, your maximum out-of-pocket expense for Family Challenge Clinical Psychology services will be $49 or less (50% lower than APS recommendations).
If claiming on Private Health Cover, your account will be itemised allowing your family to claim between 30-100% of the consultation fee (depending on the Policy holder's level of 'Extras' cover, duration of consultation, and number of family members engaging therapy).
Please note however, that some Health Insurance providers will not pay claims until eligible Medicare rebates have been exhausted (totalling 10 consultations per calendar year).
